Welcome to MobInspect ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and have designed our application to operate entirely offline without collecting any personal data.

MobInspect is an Offline APK Security Analyzer that uses on-device AI-powered threat detection. Unlike cloud-based security scanners, MobInspect performs all analysis locally on your device, ensuring your APK files and personal information never leave your phone.

This Privacy Policy explains our privacy practices and your rights. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

MobInspect is designed with a zero data collection philosophy. We explicitly do NOT collect:

2.1 Personal Information

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Account credentials or passwords
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• IP addresses or network information

2.2 Device Data

• Contact lists or address books
• SMS messages, call logs, or communication content
• Photos, videos, or personal files
• Browsing history or app usage patterns
• Financial information or payment data

2.3 Scan Data

• APK files are never uploaded to any server
• Scan results are stored only locally on your device
• Security findings are not transmitted anywhere
• No analytics about your scanning activity

3. How MobInspect Works

3.1 Local Processing

When you scan an APK file, MobInspect performs all analysis directly on your device:

• APK Parsing: The app reads and analyzes the APK file structure locally
• Permission Analysis: Examines requested permissions and their risk levels
• Code Analysis: Scans for security vulnerabilities and suspicious patterns
• AI Detection: Our 3-layer ML detection engine runs entirely on-device using TensorFlow Lite
• Report Generation: Creates detailed security reports stored only on your device

3.2 Local Data Storage

All data created by MobInspect is stored locally on your device:

• Scan Reports: Saved in the app's private storage directory
• Scan History: Maintained locally using Hive database
• App Settings: Preferences (theme, language, export format) stored locally on your device
• Trusted Apps Vault: SHA-256 checksums of trusted app versions stored locally for integrity verification
• Exported Reports: PDF, JSON, SARIF, and CSV exports saved to your Downloads folder

This data remains under your complete control and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

3.3 No Network Communication

MobInspect does not require an internet connection to function. The app:

• Does not make any network requests during scanning
• Does not connect to external servers or APIs
• Does not download or upload any data
• Works completely offline in airplane mode

4. Permissions Required

MobInspect requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

4.1 Storage Access

• Purpose: Read APK files from your device storage for analysis
• Usage: Only accesses files you explicitly select for scanning
• Data: File contents are processed locally and never transmitted
• Export: On Android 10+, exported reports (PDF, JSON, SARIF, CSV) are saved to your Downloads folder via MediaStore — no broad storage permission needed

4.2 Notification Permission (Optional)

• Purpose: Notify you when background scans complete
• Usage: Only used for scan completion alerts
• Control: Can be disabled at any time in device settings

4.3 Foreground Service Permission

• Purpose: Continue scanning when the app is in the background
• Usage: Shows a persistent notification during active scans
• Control: Service stops automatically when scan completes

4.4 Query Installed Packages

• Purpose: List installed apps for the Full Device Security Scan and App Source Categories features
• Usage: Enumerates installed app names and install sources — does not access app data
• Data: App list is processed locally and never transmitted

4.5 Install Packages (Optional)

• Purpose: Used by the Safe APK Installer to install APK files after pre-install scanning
• Usage: Only triggered when you explicitly tap "Install" after reviewing the scan results
• Control: Requires manual opt-in via Android system settings

5. Third-Party Services

MobInspect does NOT integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Specifically:

• No Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any similar service
• No Crash Reporting: We do not use Crashlytics or similar crash reporting services
• No Advertising: We do not display ads or use advertising networks
• No Social Login: We do not integrate with social media platforms
• No Cloud Services: We do not use cloud storage or processing services

5.1 App Distribution

The app is distributed through official app stores, which have their own privacy policies:

• Google Play Store: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

Once installed, MobInspect operates independently without any connection to these platforms.

6. Your Data Control

You have complete control over all data created by MobInspect:

6.1 View Your Data

• View all saved reports in the Reports section of the app
• Export reports as PDF or JSON for your records
• Review scan history at any time

6.2 Delete Your Data

• Delete individual scan reports within the app
• Clear all scan history from the app settings
• Clear app data through Android settings
• Uninstall the app to remove all associated data

6.3 Export Your Data

• Export scan reports as PDF documents
• Export scan data as JSON files
• Export findings in SARIF v2.1.0 format for CI/CD integration
• Export findings as CSV spreadsheets
• Share reports via any sharing method on your device

7. Data Security

Although we don't collect your data, we take security seriously in our app design:

• Local Storage: All data is stored in the app's private directory, inaccessible to other apps
• No Transmission: Data never leaves your device, eliminating transmission risks
• Secure Processing: APK analysis runs in isolated processes
• No Logging: We don't log any user activity or scan results

8. Children's Privacy

MobInspect is a general-purpose security tool not specifically directed at children. Since we do not collect any personal information from any users, there is no risk of collecting data from children.

Parents and guardians can allow their children to use MobInspect without privacy concerns, as the app operates entirely offline without data collection.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Because MobInspect does not collect personal data, most data protection rights do not apply. However, we respect your rights and want to be transparent:

9.1 Right to Information

This privacy policy provides complete information about our practices. We collect no personal data.

9.2 Right to Access

We do not hold any personal data about you. All your scan data is stored locally on your device.

You can delete all app data at any time by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
